The Invisible Hero., Our War Veterans.

3 mga kritiko
Our country, our government, ignores them, as though it never happened.
As if they have a reason to be ashamed.

They died, they loved, they did exist, though they were never officially named.

their families shared them, because, our government sent them, not giving a valid reason why.

Our loving protectors, gave  of  themselves,  all  willing  to  fight  and  die.

Now  they  are  ignored   and  forgotten,  tossed  aside  like  an  old  worn  out  shoe ,

in  need  of  our  government  assistance,  for  the  recognition  they  are  due.

Medical, mental, and physical   needs---and homes and places to live,

Why must they keep on giving?  When they’ve nothing left to give,

Put  your  heart  in  gear,  put  your  arms  out  and  hug  them,
we  give  value  to  the  lives  they  bared,

Even  though  you  don't  know  them,    that  shouldn't   really  matter,  because,  their  lives they  shared,

They didn’t ask why? They  trusted  us  to  honor  their  dedication,to  their  loved  ones, let  peace be real,

And   now they need help.  Won’t you acknowledge their worth,    and let   "Freedom"   really “Heal."
Honor our Veterans, its way overdue! If  you  see  a  disabled  veteran  anywhere,

Please  don't  look  away as if you're ashamed of them, or embarrassed by them.
Give them a huge smile, and a well deserved "Thank You!" Just a simple Thank You!

Revolution

Can you smell the air?
Through the bars of the cage.
What happens when the books fall?
Will we breathe in and turn the page?
It started with the firing squad.
Raining down from the heights.
What will clear the air?
After a thousand stormy nights.
Like fish in a net, we are caught.
Forced to follow where the ship will steer.
Drifting further from our home,
And the ones we hold dear.
Onward they march, the relentless youth,
The judge and the jury.
They mirror who we once were.
All the anger and all the fury.
There will be no savior,
But still the faithful elders wait.
Waiting for something to blossom.
But the soldiers come knocking at the gate.
It started with a rifle.
And here it ends with a pen.
'Revolution!' cries the new youth,
And it starts all over again.
